It's amazing what a little bit of elbow grease and some Tru-Oil will accomplish.

Hello.  My Name Is Don.

Buying guns is a disease.  I'm still checking with the Social Security Administration to see if it's covered under a disability.

And now, for something completely different.

Sunday, July 23, 2017

Today is 7/23/2017.

It is a Sunday, and that means Funday for me, generally.  Sundays are my range day.  I make my weekly pilgrimage to Honey Island Shooting Range, where I generally endeavor to knock down steel plates.

Today was a little different.  I brought something new.  Something that exemplifies everything I abhore in a pistol.  A Smith  and Wesson M&P 9 2.0.

It's Plastic
It's Ni, . . . , Nin, . . .   Point three five five caliber.
It's striker fired.
It's 18 round capacity.
Did I mention it's plastic?

So I figure I'll shoot the thing, then use if for trade fodder at a gun show.  Right?

Well, The darned pistol shoots.  I mean, it really shoots well.  It fills my hand well.  The sights are very good.  Even the trigger, which I thought was going to be horrible, wasn't that bad.

It  ate Remington Hollow Points.  Tulammo steel case, Federal FMJ, Aguila FMJ, my 125gr HAP reloads, my 115gr LRN reloads, and my 147gr RNFP reloads.  It ate it all, without a glitch, hitch, or hiccup.

At 25 yards, the POI never wandered so far that I missed an 8" steel plate, with any of the ammo I tried.

I actually, ahem, like the thing.  Errr, Don't tell anyone I said that.

So.  I now own my first Wonder Nine Plastic Fantastic.

I'm keeping it.  I might trade off that 9mm 1911 instead.
